Industrial Pretreatment Inspector

The Lake County Department of Utilities is accepting applications for the position of Industrial Pretreatment Inspector. Applicants must have a High School diploma or GED. A valid Driver’s License with a safe driving record and a drug screening are required. Applicants must possess or be able to obtain a Class 1 Wastewater Treatment License within 18 months of hire.

Applicants should have; general knowledge of wastewater treatment; be able to conduct inspections for industrial facilities; good written and oral communication, and organizational skills. Knowledge of setting samplers along with the collection and preservation of the samples is ideal.

This position will require physical labor including but not limited to removal of manhole covers and placing samplers with a weight at times exceeding fifty pounds. This position requires emergency call out at all hours including weekends and holidays. Starting salary range is $18.25 - $20.35/hour.
