Details:
Monitors and maintains water treatment plant and raw water pumping operations by collecting and analyzing water samples and data, performing operational checks and adjusting water treatment processes to respond to changing water quality conditions, servicing and maintaining equipment, operates chemical feed equipment and tanks, washes filters. Provides training to new employees as directed by Supervision or Management.

Qualifications:
-Graduation from a high school or equivalent G.E.D.
-Twelve (12) credits of college level chemistry and biology and four (4) credits of college level algebra or equivalent as approved by the Division.
-Minimum of one year experience working as a water treatment plant operator in a similar plant.
-Must have a valid Michigan driver’s license and qualify to drive a Division vehicle in compliance with the Division Driver Policy.
-Must have and maintain a valid Michigan “F3” Water Filtration certification, or equivalent from another state.
-Must be able to lift a minimum of seventy-five (75) pounds.
-Must have color vision
-Must be able to work in confined spaces and outdoors under varying climatic conditions.
-Must be able to work various shifts, irregular hours, including holidays and weekends (please refer to the Senior Treatment Plant Operator language per Bargaining Unit Agreement Article 19, Hours of Work and Premium Hours).
