This is a supervisory position involving working foreman duties for all treatment functions of the City of Saginaw’s 52 MGD potable water treatment plant. Duties include treatment and testing of process water to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, supervising plant operators and assisting in the operation of equipment and machinery to ensure adequate water pressure for the City water system.
Pay range dependent upon State of Michigan licensing designation.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED certificate; course work in Chemistry highly desirable.
- Good mechanical aptitude with some knowledge of electricity and pumping operations.
- Two years’ experience in water treatment plant operations highly desirable.
- Must possess F-4 State Certification at time of hire; possession of F-3 State Certification preferred.
- Supervisory experience highly desirable.
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and deal tactfully with the public.
- Must be willing to work a rotating shift.
- Must be able to wear a respirator and work in confined spaces.
- Ability to respond to plant emergency situations and use sound judgment in making decisions.
