WADE TRIM is a full service engineering firm consistently recognized for our award winning solutions. We are currently seeking a highly motivated experienced Operations and Maintenance Specialist near Highland Park, MI to join our team.

Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid Michigan driver license and have five to ten years of experience maintaining a community’s water & sewer system. A S-2 Water Certification licensed by the State of Michigan is also required. Candidates must have basic knowledge of chemistry and math. Typical responsibilities include:

•Operate and maintain water and sewer systems for the community
•Maintain accurate operational and maintenance records on a daily basis
•Collect and analyze water samples
•Perform preventative maintenance on equipment
•Prepare reports
•Use a computer / iPad to record work
•Use GIS (Geographical Information System)
•Basic knowledge of BS&A utility billing software
•Maintain fire hydrants
•Locate and operate gate valves & curb valves (stop boxes)
•Install water meters and remote devices
•Perform water meter reading tasks using electronic hardware
•Inspect installation of water services
•Inspect the discontinuation of water & sewer services for homes / businesses
•Maintain accurate records of equipment operation and utility usage
•Communicate with residents, city officials and supervisors within the company
•Respond to after hour emergencies
•Respond to Miss Dig request to locate water & sewer utilities for the community
•Maintain standard professional ethics
•Assist Project Manager and co-workers
•Maintain excellent client and public relations
•Maintain a safe working environment
