General Summary: Work responsibility includes the purification of raw water by means of a large, modern, treatment and filtration plant, and the pumping of finished water to the distribution system. Work involves rendering technical supervision and consultation to subordinates in accordance with departmental policies and procedures on all operational and maintenance problems pertaining to water production. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Director of Public Works, who reviews work for technical compliance to policy and established standards. Supervises the operation, maintenance, and repair of water production, treatment and storage equipment and facilities. Coordinates all pump, purification, treatment, laboratory, maintenance, and storage activities; inspects operations of pumping and treatment plants for conformance with standard operational procedures and standards. Salary $61,585 - $86,171

Qualifications:
Must have two (2) years of college in the science field and at least five (5) years’ experience in a supervisory role, or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess a State of Michigan F-I Water Treatment Certification license and have supervisory experience in a filtration and softening plant setting.
