Details:
Perform engineering duties for the design and construction of the City’s various capital improvement projects such as sidewalks, streets, sewer systems, water main systems, and traffic signals. These responsibilities include preparing drawings, contract documents, technical specifications, cost estimates, environmental documents, traffic data collection and related reports.

Conduct site inspections to ensure contractor compliance with design, plans and specifications; perform thorough reviews of traffic impact studies; investigate field/constructability problems and review, estimate and negotiate change orders; conduct construction progress meetings and prepare progress reports. Also, required to perform field inspections of permitted projects within the City’s right-of-way as well as overseeing the permitting program.


Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree with major course work in civil engineering or a related design discipline is preferred, with demonstrated competence in the use of AutoCAD software and proficiency in surveying. Work experience must include two years of increasingly responsible civil engineering experience. The City may consider an Associate’s degree with major course work in civil engineering or a related design discipline and expertise, advanced experience in civil design and the use of AutoCAD software, and proficiency in surveying. Work experience must include ten years of increasingly responsible advanced civil engineering design experience.

Experience with AutoCAD software and survey equipment is required; a valid Michigan driver's license is required.



Comments:
$49,405 to a maximum of $69,022 with a full benefit package

7:30am - 4:30pm, Monday through Friday.
