Details:
This is 7-day, swing shift work in the operation of all City of Saginaw Wastewater Treatment Plant facilities. Duties involve responsible operation of plant equipment and machinery, routine laboratory analysis, sample collection, gathering and reporting data, and performance of general maintenance and mechanical repair tasks. Assumes lead worker responsibilities on assigned shift or project.

Qualifications:
- High school degree or GED equivalent
- Willing and able to work a swing shift in a continuous 24 hour/7-day operation
- Knowledgeable of, and work experience with, pumping station and wastewater treatment equipment such as pumps, valves, bearings, motors and regulators to detect and report possible problems
- Related coursework or actual work experience providing an understanding of open channel and pressure hydraulic systems and other interrelated plant systems (i.e. chemical feed, city water, industrial water, sludge handling, etc.)
- Skills, abilities and experience in the operation and maintenance of varied types of mechanical equipment such as pumps, motors, valves, compressors, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment
- Once eligible, must obtain a Sewage Treatment Work Operator's Class "D" certification from the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality within 4 test cycles
and a Class "C" certification within 8 test cycles
- Experience with computers and a willingness to learn software programs
- Willing and able to work at various heights, in confined spaces and be certified in respirator use
