Details:
This is semi and limited skilled work in the City of Saginaw’s 52 MGD Water Treatment Plant responsible for the operation and computerized control of plant and pumping station equipment. Duties include general maintenance and mechanical repair tasks; assumes lead worker responsibilities on assigned shifts or projects. Assists in the operation of treatment functions as needed.

Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Good mechanical aptitude with one year experience in the operation and maintenance of various types of mechanical equipment
- Basic knowledge of electricity, chemistry and biology
- Ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics is desirable
- State of Michigan water operator certification preferred. Must obtain and maintain F-4 certification within 2 years of placement into position and an F-3 certification within 5 years
- Must possess an understanding of computer systems; experience in computer-controlled plant equipment (SCADA) preferred
- Able and willing to work a 24-hour/7 day a week work schedule.
- Able and willing to frequently lift up to 50 lbs,, work in confined space, and work in a noisy environment requiring hearing protection under certain conditions
