Details:
Under general supervision, provides crew leadership to workers engaged in operations, maintenance, and repair duties related to the operation of County sewage treatment plants. Uses experience on the job to work efficiently and imparts similar knowledge to crew members. Evaluates jobs to ensure treatment facility work is thoroughly completed and provides crew feedback. Performs inspections of facilities and equipment to identify repair needs. Examines newly completed facilities for proper operation and discusses issues as needed with contractor. Uses cell phone to stay in regular contact with workers. Keeps records of activities and updates system maps. Reviews crew reports and discusses progress with supervision. Answers complaints according to policy and direction, and makes emergency repairs. Drafts work instructions and performs related duties. Is responsible for safe work procedures. Work may involve hazardous conditions common to below ground and/or confined space. Utilizes current county-wide and/or department specific software to complete assignments.

Qualifications:
1. Must possess a class "C" Municipal Waste Water Treatment certificate from the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ); AND

2. Have had at least three (3) years of full-time work experience in sewage treatment operations.

3. Possess a valid motor vehicle operator's or chauffeur's license.

4. Pass the complete examination, including the employment medical, established for this class.

5. Successfully complete the six month probationary period.
