Details:
AECOM is seeking a Senior Water /Wastewater Design Engineer/Manager/Project Manager to join our Michigan water group in our Detroit or Southfield offices. This position will focus on work associated with water treatment process design, wastewater treatment process design, transmission and conveyance, master planning, asset management, and will assist with projects related other water resources tasks as needed.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

•Project management of moderate to complex municipal water, wastewater and conveyance projects including design team leadership, and development of scopes of work, level of effort and project completion schedules


•Technical work on moderate to complex municipal water/wastewater treatment process system evaluations and project tasks, including planning, design, modeling, and construction observation


•Business development support for the southeast Michigan area


•Utilize network of water industry resources such as existing and potential water /wastewater clients, professional associations, manufacturers and contractors for business development opportunities


•Attend and play an active role in business development meetings, professional associations and conferences, and other opportunities to interact with potential clients


•Develop scopes of work and schedules for inclusion into contracts; negotiate contracts


•Manage client and project from study phase through detailed design and construction administration


•Schedule and conduct project meetings and workshops


•Manage and coordinate sub-consultants


•Liaison to regulatory agencies for project permitting


•Review and approve client invoices


•Identify and develop relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers in existing and new markets


•Assist with authoring proposals (technical approach, project team, relevant experience, schedule, fee, local economic development requirements)


•Develop PowerPoint presentations for projects and proposal interviews



Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements

•Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, preferably environmental, civil, mechanical or chemical


•10+ years of municipal water / wastewater system and process design experience including 5+ years' experience in managing a multi-discipline design team with a focus on municipal water/wastewater engineering projects


•MI Professional Engineer


•Experience writing technical proposals and reports


•Demonstrated experience interacting with clients and participating in project interviews


•Proficiency with computer applications including word processing, spreadsheets and related applications (MS Office Suite)


•Strong desire to assist in developing water / wastewater business in Michigan


Preferred Qualifications

•Experience with municipal water and wastewater treatment facility plans/specs and MI state regulations


•Municipal water / wastewater treatment design experience in municipal, commercial, and industrial markets


•History of working on SE Michigan water / wastewater design


•Previous experience working with SE Michigan communities (IE: City of Detroit, Great Lakes Water Authority, etc)


•Demonstrated experience in identifying new project opportunities with little to no direction
