AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented GIS and Data Integration Specialist for immediate employment for the Detroit, MI office. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:

•Construct, integrate and maintain geographic and infrastructure asset information systems that will support the capital improvement recommendations


•Assist in the design and creation of the infrastructure asset information warehouse, establish data standards and data sharing protocols, spearhead data collection efforts, assist in developing specifications for field data collection contractors and migrating existing and newly-collected data into the warehouse


•Maintaining data integrity and mining data systems by producing information queries, dashboards, reports and maps


•Create standard map products and reports following predefined GIS data standards and specifications


•Edit, manage, and analyze geospatial data maintained in a multi-user, versioned, enterprise geodatabase using the ESRI suite of products Electronic and hardcopy map documents will be generated


•Produce spatial and non-spatial data related to wastewater and water linear networks


•Review technical requirements to meet data development standards and implement quality assurance tasks


•Preparation of datasets for use in ArcGIS for Server, Portal for GIS, and/or ArcGIS Online web-based platforms


•Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently with minimal supervision. Be proactive to take initiative to solve problems using GIS and database technologies


•Ability to work with a team of professionals providing technical support when needed


•Manage GIS related mobile field data collection tasks


•Document procedures and develop metadata


•Streamline and automate routine mapping processes and tasks when applicable


•Performs other duties as required



Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Computer Science, Information Technology or GIS related field


•2+ years of demonstrable experience using ESRI GIS suite of desktop and server products (ArcGIS, ArcGIS Pro and extensions, ArcGIS for Server/ArcSDE).


•Thorough knowledge of cartographic principles, map projections, and coordinate systems


•Experience with importing/exporting data between ArcGIS data formats and CAD


•Experience with linear asset data development, network development and modeling; sewer and wastewater experience required


•Proficient with geodatabase development and data management within ArcGIS for Server/ArcSDE multi-user editing environment


•Experience creating, managing and supporting web-based GIS services (ArcGIS for Server, Portal for ArcGIS, ArcGIS Online)


•Some knowledge of Oracle Work and Asset Management (WAM) software


•Knowledge of GPS mobile field data collection techniques, digital form development, photograph and video file management


•Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite


•Residency within City of Detroit or ability to relocate to Detroit


Preferred Qualifications

•Thorough knowledge of water, wastewater and storm water conveyance systems


•Working knowledge of SQL Server RDBMS and Oracle RDBMS related to ArcSDE system administration and data management


•Experience supporting web-based GIS services using ArcGIS for Server, Portal for ArcGIS and/or ArcGIS Online


•Programming skills that include SQL, Python, C#, Visual Basic, C/C++ Experience with Data Interoperability ArcGIS extension


•GISP and/or ESRI Technical Certification


•Knowledge of Cityworks or similar platform is desired
