Details:
Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, has a regular, full-time position available for a water/wastewater operator. Responsibilities include maintaining treatment systems (piping, pumps, valves, and tanks); preparing chemicals for treatment systems; operating and maintaining instrumentation on treatment systems and meters (calibration, repair, troubleshooting); laboratory sampling and recordkeeping; preparing field reports; and general maintenance of vehicles, work areas, and equipment. The ability to respond promptly to emergencies and some travel will be required. The schedule for this position will be Wednesday through Sunday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. This position will also be required to be on call.

Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have a certificate or higher in water technology or a related field; OR, if no degree, at least one year of relevant water/wastewater treatment experience.

The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following: Michigan L-2 and/or D Wastewater license or the ability to obtain within 12 months of hire; Michigan S-4, D-4 Water Treatment license or the ability to obtain within 12 months of hire; familiarity with the principles and practices of water/wastewater treatment plant operations (e.g., maintaining piping, pumps, valves, and tanks; operating and maintaining instrumentation on treatment systems and meters; laboratory sampling and recordkeeping; preparing field reports; general maintenance of vehicles, work areas, and equipment); understanding of principles and methods of bacteriological and chemical water/wastewater treatment; knowledge of wastewater collection systems and water distribution systems; knowledge of/ experience with safety training.
