Director of Water Treatment


The Lake County Department of Utilities is accepting resumes for the position of Water Treatment Director. A valid Class III or Class IV State of Ohio Water Certificate is preferred with extensive experience in utility management, water treatment, operation and maintenance. An associate’s degree or higher in science or engineering is desired. This position manages, leads and directs the operation and maintenance of two major water treatment plants and the associated distribution systems and facilities. Candidate leads in planning, organizing and coordinating related operations, maintenance and services. Oversees the development of operating budgets and capital improvement budgets and is in control of expenditures. Manages continuous change and adapts business processes as necessary. Provides input and supports organizational department initiatives. Establishes practices, policies and procedures to ensure consistency of processes, cost savings initiatives and delivery of quality services. Enforces safety policies to ensure the safety of employees and department facilities. Develops and maintains effective internal and external relationships. Salary based on qualifications.
