Details:
Provide adequate water and sewer facilities operation, repair & maintenance. Respond to all emergencies involving water and sewer facilities. Complete of all maintenance records and file all operational reports with the Director of Public Utilities and any appropriate agencies. Work with telemetry computer to determine system status and needs. Maintain adequate spare parts inventory at said facilities. Maintain record of the existing equipment at said facilities. Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance as per the all equipment manufacturers’ recommendations and County’s requirements, and makes necessary repairs. Clean and maintain the water & sewer facilities and surrounding grounds. Assist in maintaining inventory of equipment and supplies. Orient and train employees. Field review of contractors' work to ensure that water and sewer systems construction and completion are in accordance to plans and specifications. Coordinate construction with utility companies.
Complete and maintain records and reports of water and sewer systems construction. Read all type of water and sewer meters. Make basic engineering calculations (e.g. pipe quantities, bury depths, grades) and compute preliminary estimates. Collect water samples and perform lab/field analysis. Update the county's water and sewer systems maps, records and file. Attend meetings and training sessions as needed. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Public Utilities.


Qualifications:
Understand water and sewer systems construction plans and specifications. Working knowledge of the current industry's standard methods and procedures for water and sewer construction. Working knowledge of department policies, procedures, practices and guidelines related to position. Working knowledge of federal state and local laws, regulations, codes and guidelines governing job duties. Working knowledge of applicable reference manuals, books and materials related to job duties. Working knowledge of safety equipment and procedures related to job duties. Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems. Ability to work well alone, with others, and with the general public. Ability to infrequently lift objects weighing up to 70 pounds. Maintain a valid Ohio driver's license. Ability to safely and legally operate designated equipment and vehicles. Willingness to continue education through job-related courses, conferences and seminars. Ability to work extended hours and/or irregular hours (occasionally). Maintain, at a minimum, Class II Water Distribution or Class I Water Supply Ohio EPA Certificate. A high school education or equivalent plus two (2) years of higher education in a job related field. Five (5) years of qualified job related experience may substitute for higher education. Maintain Class B CDL license.

Must possess or obtain Class II Water Distribution or Class I Water Supply Ohio EPA Certificate within one (1) years of hire and Class B CDL License within one (1) year of hire.
