Details:
This is an entry level position at the wastewater treatment plant. The successful candidate will be required to progress through the State of Michigan’s Municipal Wastewater Treatment certification process, ultimately obtaining the Class B license. Experience with municipal drinking water systems and/or industrial wastewater treatment is a plus.



Qualifications:
Graduation from high school or GED equivalent.
Some knowledge of chemistry, geometry, math, biology and related sciences.
Possess a valid State of Michigan driver’s license.
Experience in operations and maintenance of wastewater related equipment, training in water and wastewater treatment and or laboratory experience preferred.
Must obtain a State of Michigan Department of Environmental Quality Wastewater Operator’s License Class “D” within 2 years of hire.
Must have the physical ability to climb ladders and stairs to perform manual labor, and open manholes.
Ability to establish and maintain satisfactory working relationships with the public and other employees.
Ability to perform duties in a timely manner.
Ability to communicate in writing and verbally with other operators and supervisors.
Ability to take readings, collect and record data, and maintain operating logs.
Must display a willingness to study and the ability to learn the advanced concepts of wastewater treatment.
