The Walworth County Metropolitan Sewerage District seeks an administrator to be responsible for providing overall administrative engineering direction for a metropolitan wastewater facility located, in Delavan, 45 miles southwest of Milwaukee Wisconsin.

The District has 18 full time employees, including supervisors for treatment plant operation, and the collection system. Plant has 7.00 MGD capacity, with approximately 17,100 residential equivalent units serving ten communities ranging in population up to 10,000.

Responsibilities: Management and administration of the day-to-day business affairs and oversight of any facility, associated sewers and lift station construction, maintenance and operation, including preparation of applications for licenses, permits or other consents as may be required to construct and/or operate the facilities, and review of plans, specifications for District expansion. Preparation of the annual budget and the updating of the long range capital improvement projects plan. Staffing responsibilities include interview and recommendation to the Commission of competent personnel.

The Administrator is the liaison between the Commissioners of the District and various municipalities, governmental agencies and the public who are served by the District; and will assist the development of appropriate policies and the formation and adoption of sewer use ordinances and rates.


Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related science with a minimum of 5 years of public administration and utility management supervision experience with water and wastewater treatment and sanitary collection systems. Certification as a Wisconsin professional engineer and wastewater operator are preferred. This position requires a proven record of team building and customer service.
