Details:
Under general supervision, is responsible for performing a variety of moderately complex technical electronic repairs to County telemetering equipment. Performs necessary bench and mobile tests to various transmitting and receiving electrical components. Maintains proper operation of electrical systems in pump stations, well houses and sewage treatment plants, using correct techniques and departmental safety methods. Under supervision of a licensed electrician, maintains proper operation of electrical controls in water, sanitary sewer, and storm drain facilities, including pump stations, well houses, sewage treatment plants, pressure reducing sites and sewage metering locations. Tests and maintains emergency portable power generators. Calibrates and repairs various instruments including flow meters and gas detectors. May work as an electrical apprentice, assisting a journeyman or master electrician. Duties require alertness for safety hazards and a moderate amount of physical dexterity and effort. Utilizes current county-wide and/or department specific software to complete assignments.

Employees of this classification are required to be available for operational problems, equipment emergencies, widespread storms, power outages and other operations and maintenance emergencies as deemed necessary by management after normal working hours, weekends and holidays. Also, employees in this classification are required to be on assigned On-Call and/or On-Call alternate, as required by management.

Qualifications:
1. A. Possess an Associate's degree or sixty (60) semester credit hours from an accredited
college, university, or technical school in Applied Science, Electrical Trades Technology,
Electronics Technology or closely related area; AND

B. Have had two (2) years of full-time experience in electronics, automation,
PLC programming, SCADA, radio network, instrumentation, controls or robotics. OR

2. A. Must be a high school graduate or have a certificate of successful completion of the
General Education Development Test; AND

B. Have had four (4) years of full-time experience in electronics, automation, PLC
programming, SCADA, radio network, instrumentation, controls or robotics.

3. Possess a valid motor vehicle operator's or chauffeur's license.

4. Pass the complete examination including the employment medical, established for this class.

5. Successfully complete the six month probationary period.
