Details:
Under general supervision, performs and analyzes chemical tests on waste water, storm water, and drinking water samples from domestic and industrial sewers, storm drainage systems, and potable water systems. Prepares reports for federal and state monitoring agencies. Instructs operators in field testing and sampling techniques. Follows EPA approved methods for all water treatment analysis and maintains laboratory in a safe and proper working order. Employees of this classification are required to be available for operational problems, equipment emergencies, widespread storms, power outages and other operations and maintenance emergencies as deemed necessary by management after normal working hours, weekends and holidays. Also, employees may be assigned On-Call and/or as an On-Call alternate, as required by management. Utilizes current county-wide and/or department specific software to complete assignments.

Qualifications:
1. Possess a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Bacteriology, Biology, or other closely related field; AND

2. Have at least one (1) year of full?time experience involving analysis of chemical and biological material.

3. Possess a valid Michigan motor vehicle operator's or chauffeur's license.

4. Pass the complete examination including the employment medical established for this class.

5. Successfully complete the six month probationary period.
