Event Name:Virtual Mental Health First Aid Training
Description:Mental Health First Aid is the initial help given to a person showing symptoms of mental illness or in a mental health crisis (severe depression, psychosis, panic attack, suicidal thoughts and behaviors, etc.) until appropriate professional or other help, including peer and family support, can be engaged. The training teaches participants to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. Course includes 2 hours of self-paced work then a 6.5-hour live virtual training. Offered by Community Mental Health Authority of Clinton, Eaton and Ingham Counties. Registration required. Cost: $15 (scholarships available upon request to help cover the fee).
