Details: Join NWAFP for a discussion on how Corporate Treasuries can help their organizations set up their bank account structures in an optimal way to operate strategically. When faced with decentralized account structures and multiple banking platforms, managing liquidity and collecting data may be a complex ordeal. What are best practices in managing banking partners, especially when it’s more than one bank? Private companies may face numerous pain points as it pertains to the KYC process. This panel discussion will provide various perspectives on where it stands today and what the future of KYC may look like.
Panelists: Ed Barrie is Chief Product Officer for Treasury 4, Inc. and is responsible for product strategy and capabilities. Ed engages with customers and partners to understand their challenges and needs and incorporates their feedback into the Treasury4 product roadmap.
Prior to co-founding Treasury4, Ed spent six years at Tableau Software & Salesforce.com and was responsible for building their award winning treasury where Ed and his team earned the Treasury & Risk 2020 Alexander Hamilton award for Technology Excellence, Treasury Today 2018 Adam Smith Award for the category of Harnessing the Power of Technology as a result of driving advanced cash, payments and investment analytics as well as a 2019 Adam Smith Highly Commended Award for Best Card Solution in partnership with Bank of America. Ed spent six years at Itron, Inc. as Assistant Treasurer where his team earned the Treasury Today 2014 Adam Smith Award for Best Process Re-engineering Solution for their efforts in implementing world class treasury systems and processes. Prior to joining Itron, Ed spent seven years in Microsoft’s Global Treasury Department with responsibility for treasury systems, including the company’s SWIFT implementation and treasury operations. Ed earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Eastern Washington University.
Scott Hogate is the Treasury Solutions Advisor for PNC Corporate Bank. Prior to joining PNC, Scott worked as an independent Treasury & Financial Consultant, recently finishing an engagement at Universal Services of America (Security). He was hired to identify, analyze and design a traditional treasury function which included bank, account and service justification, the development of a cash forecast as well as process improvements involving the cash conversion cycle.
Previously, Scott was the Assistant Treasurer at 99¢ Only Stores (Retail), Treasurer at DDi Corp (Manufacturing), Consultant at Guthy-Renker (Sales Marketing), Assistant Treasurer at Abbott Medical Optics (Medical Device), formerly Advanced Medical Optics, Treasury Manager at AmerisourceBergen (Distribution), Apria Healthcare (Home Healthcare), and FHP Healthcare (HMO).
Scott graduated from the University of Redlands with a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and an undergraduate degree from Chapman University with majors in Finance and Economics. Scott has more than twenty years of practitioner experience in Treasury including earning his Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) and Certified Order-to-Cash & Procure-to-Pay Specialist designations. He is based in Orange, CA.
Mary Desmond is Director of Financial Operations at Sealaska. Mary’s career spans 30 years of financial leadership, including two decades as cash manager at The Seattle Times. She has helped lead a variety of financial systems overhauls and overseen the introduction of numerous payment processes. Before joining Sealaska to direct financial operations, Mary served as treasury manager at Zulily and, later, Starbucks. She holds an MBA with a concentration in finance from Seattle University.
