January Meeting - Energy Efficient Boiler Plants
This presentation compares and contrasts popular boiler piping schemes used for condensing boiler plants. We’ll look carefully at variable primary and primary secondary piping and how they can impact system efficiency. There’s a lot to think about when designing an efficient boiler plant; low return water temperatures, minimum flow rates, short cycling, and boiler turndown. We’ll look at real world examples and crunch the numbers that will help avoid efficiency killing situations like chronic short cycling. Some points the presentation will cover are below

Warren is the General Manager for JM O’Connor and holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Missouri. Warren has Twenty-nine years in the HVAC industry working for manufactures reps in management and as a sales engineer. He has a broad knowledge of systems and equipment with emphasis on pumps, hydronics, boilers, cooling towers, and heat transfer. Warren has a passion for teaching and enjoys presenting training classes on a range of topics including pumps, boilers, hydronics, and heat exchangers. Warren has also been invited to speak at professional groups including ASHRAE, ASPE, NEBB and IAPMO on industry specific topics.
