Grab your towel & flip flops! You are invited to the GL SplashPad Grand Opening! Eaton County's first splash pad will open to the public at Grand Ledge's Jaycee Park Aug. 13.
A grand opening ribbon-cutting ceremony for the 2,000-square-foot splash pad with 19 water sprays will be held at 11 a.m.
A 3-foot high bollard with a large button located on the splash pad activates the water sprays when pressed. The water sprays are set on a timer allowing it to only be in use when visitors have engaged the button.
The splash pad will be free and open seven days a week, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the park located off East River Street.
The splash pad will typically operate from Memorial Day through Labor Day, but the City is looking to keep the splash pad open further into September this year, depending on the weather.
The splash pad is handicap accessible with handicapped parking available along East River Street.
