Libraries and Local History: You Can Do It, Too!
We will cover some key points on how a library can provide local history services and programs to the community. We will look at the basics behind creating a local history program and tour the exhibits at the Cuyahoga Valley Historical Museum and visit the Roush Room for Local History at the Peninsula Library and Historical Society.
In the afternoon you will hear about the Cleveland Memory Project and the Ohio Outdoor Sculpture Inventory.
Presenters: Randy Bergdorf, Director/Fiscal Officer Peninsula Library & Historical Society and Cuyahoga Valley Historical Museum. Also Boston Township Trustee since 1988, Secretary of the Boston Township Hall Committee since 1990. B.A. in American Studies--Kent State- and Master's in Library Science--Kent State. Randy started as a Page at the Peninsula Library have served as Archivist/Curator, Fiscal Officer, and Director. He is also the co-author of Cuyahoga Valley (an Arcadia Publishing Company book) and member of the Subject and Special Collections Division for the Ohio Library Council.
