Free MiWARN Functional Exercise
Do you ever worry that you won’t have what you really need to respond to a water or wastewater emergency? The Michigan Water and Wastewater Agency Response Network (MiWARN) is a network of "utilities helping utilities." This network helps water and wastewater utilities, as well as public works agencies locate emergency assistance in the form of personnel, equipment, materials and other services.
MiWARN is proudly hosting a one-day functional exercise (FE) for water and wastewater owners and operators, emergency management staff, and response partners from local, state and federal agencies. The FE will consist of an exercise scenario focused on an incident that affects water and wastewater utilities and provides the opportunity for participants to test emergency response capabilities, specifically but not limited to: communications, resource management, documentation and mutual aid and assistance during an incident.
08:00 AM - 04:00 PM Eastern
Michigan State Police Headquarters SEOC Governor's Conference Room 7150 Harris Drive Dimondale, MI 48821 UNITED STATES
This FE is open to member utilities and non-member utilities, public works agencies, as well as private sector response partners that are interested in learning more about MiWARN.
Continuing Education Credits (CECs): An application will be made for Michigan water and wastewater operators to earn CECs toward their license renewal requirements for their participation in the event.
