Come and join your Eaton County Parks Commissioners on this great day to get out and take a walk in your community. Commissioners will be on hand to greet our participants and help guide the walks.
This seventh annual event is sponsored by the Eaton County Parks & Recreation Commission and staff. This event features a FREE walk from Oak Park on the north side of Grand Ledge, across the downtown Grand River Bridge back to Fitzgerald Park along the River Trail or Jefferson Street.
It is a free event that just allows anyone that wants to walk (mock of the Govenors bridge walk on Mackinac) with parks commissioners and staff. Participants meet at Fitzgerald Park around 8:30 AM and are shuttled over to Oak Park for a 9:00 AM start time. We walk as a group into town and across the bridge. Participants have the option to walk the ledges trail back to the park or go up and walk down the sidewalks along Jefferson back to the Park. it is a great chance to get out and walk in.
We allow walkers to come as they please and provide transportation up until 11:30 AM but the 9:00 AM walk is the only guided walk.
This is a fun, family friendly event that offers a great opportunity to come out and walk your community just like the annual Labor Day Bridge walk across the Mackinac Bridge with the Governor.
