Event Description
All members of the adoption triad and interested adoption professionals and third parties are invited to attend. Please visit the CUB website: www.cubirthparents.org for details about other speakers and activities and hotel registration.
Cost for the retreat which includes Friday & Saturday hosted dinners and Sunday hosted breakfast is $250.00 for the full retreat and $120.00 for single day (includes hosted dinner). Register by October 3 rd and rates are discounted $25. Hotel fee is $129 + a spa fee of $16 a day. For REGISTRATIONS made by October 3, via PHONE (888-237-8772) the $16 spa fee will be waived for CUB retreat attendees. Concerned United Birthparents, Inc. (CUB) provides support for all family members separated by adoption; resources to help prevent unnecessary family separations; education about the life-long impact on all who are affected by adoption; and advocates for fair and ethical adoption laws, policies, and practices.

Keynote speakers include:
Dr. Loretta Ross, Human rights and women's rights activist speaking on "Adoption as a Human Rights Issue." Ross is Co-founder and National Coordinator of the SisterSong Women of Color Reproductive Justice Collective, and organizer in the reproductive justice movement.
Amy Seek, a birthmother, landscape architect and writer, who will talk about her 2015 memoir, God and Jetfire: Confessions of a Birth Mother. The book describes the love and loss that give voice to the birthmother experience.
Suzanne Bachner, award-winning playwright, director and adoptee. Bachner will present her play, The Good Adoptee, detailing the playwright’s story of her search for her birth parents in the face of New York State's sealed records.
