The misconception that staying safe and healthy while on the job is simply common sense is held by many. Creating and maintaining a culture of 'safety first' takes a great deal of training, emphasis and reinforcement. This class can be an important part of such a program.

'Safety first' must be more than just a trite sign on the walls of your plant. Each individual (with your help) has the obligation to return home each day in the same condition (or better) in which they left. Staff must be trained to understand basic safety practices and then make the consistent choice to follow those practices.

Topics Covered:
  • Medical Monitoring
  • Incident Investigation
  • Hazards
  • Personal Protective Equipment
  • Confined Sapce
  • Fire Safety/Emergency Action
  • Utility Location
  • Traffic Safety

This course is part of the curriculum of the Water Resource Recovery Technician (WRRT) Credential Program. This program is intended to recognize a person's commitment to professionalism and continuous improvement. This program does not replace MDEQ certification. For more information click on "WRRT Program" below.
