In October of 2015, a change in Visa and MasterCard’s agreements with merchants switched liability losses for certain counterfeit card transactions from the card brands and banks to the merchants.  This change in liability applies to merchant transactions where fraud could have been prevented by utilizing card chip and pin structure, known as EMV (Europay, MasterCard, Visa).
 
Join us for a panel discussion, including leaders from local organizations, to talk about their efforts in the EMV migration, as well as other merchant services technologies associated with preventing fraud and data loss. These tools include EMV, point of sale encryption and secure data storage through tokenization. Our panelists will also discuss their roadmap for utilizing these tools and the factors that drove them to implement those systems, the time to implement, and share various other considerations involved.

Julie A. Walker
Senior Treasury Analyst & Card and Payments Specialist
Recreational Equipment, Inc., (REI)

Julie is a Payments Expert and Senior Treasury Analyst at REI, a $2B revenue multichannel retailer of outdoor products for hiking, camping, climbing, cycling, paddling, travel and winter sports. Julie brings more than 35 years’ experience in treasury and payments, both as a banker and as a corporate practitioner. She is involved in the development and execution of REI's payments acceptance strategy initiatives as well as managing REI’s merchant services relationships and Interchange optimization.   
 
Julie has also held diverse positions ranging from Float Manager at a large multi-state bank, consumer banking solutions at a community bank, and has led successful treasury sales and business development programs.  She served on the Northwest Clearing House Association (now WesPay) Board for 11 years, including service as chairman and treasurer, and now serves as an Advisor to the National Clearing House Association (NACHA) Board.
 
In addition, Julie served on the Northwest Association for Financial Professionals (NWAFP) Board for 10 years as treasurer, chairman and on the programs committee.

 
Selena Tonti
Chief Information Security and Privacy Officer
Port of Seattle

In Selena’s role at the Port, she oversees information security and privacy issues across the organization, which includes various maritime, corporate, control and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport systems. Selena is also charged with Compliance, Business Continuity Planning/ Disaster Recovery, and Incident Response efforts.  She has led PCI efforts at the Port of Seattle, working to incorporate tokenization, EMV and online processing.
 
Selena is a board member of the Public Infrastructure Security Collaboration and Exchange System (PISCES-NW) and a member of the Multi State – Information Sharing and Analysis Center (MS-ISAC), and the Cyber Incident Response Coalition and Analysis Sharing (CIRCAS). She has been working in security for 13 years.
 
In addition, Selena has a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems from Strayer University, as well as the following certifications: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Privacy Technologist (CIP/T), and PCI Internal Security Assessor (ISA) . She supported the DoD and Intelligence Community in Information Security/ Assurance efforts prior to her role at the Port of Seattle.

The meeting and lunch are included in the annual membership.  All Members are eligible to bring a new one-time guest at no cost.  Both members and guests must register. If the paid member cannot attend a meeting, a substitute may attend.  Non-members pay the guest price of $45.  Non-working students pay the student guest price of $15.
