Event Description

The Oklahoma Travel Industry Association has partnered with Lt. Governor Todd Lamb to produce the Lt. Governor's Travel & Tourism Summits, which are held around the state. Each half-day program will provide tourism education featuring speakers covering a range of topics on best practices to promote tourism in your region, followed by a townhall-type discussion by the Lt. Governor on tourism development in each of the areas visited around the state. The programs will conclude with a networking reception.

OTIA members gathered at the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame in Muskogee on September 3, 2014 for a Lt. Governor’s Travel & Tourism Summit. Hosted by the Greater Muskogee Area Chamber of Commerce, attendees had the privilege of hearing Senator Rick Brinkley speak about staying motivated and moving forward personally and professionally. After the education workshops, Lt. Governor Todd Lamb held a Town Hall meeting, and then guests enjoyed a networking reception.

The Ardmore Convention Center was the locale for the September 10, 2014 Lt. Governor’s Travel & Tourism Summit, hosted by the Ardmore Convention & Visitors Bureau. Speaker Rebecca Eastham, PhD treated attendees to education workshops focused around creating a hospitality culture to better serve your customers and educating your team through hospitality training programs. Attendees then sat in on a Town Hall meeting with Lt. Governor Todd Lamb and then mingled at a networking reception.

Visit Stillwater hosted the final Lt. Governor’s Travel & Tourism Summit on October 15, 2014 at Meridian Technology Center. Over 90 OTIA members were in attendance as guest speaker Mike Fullerton of Brand USA spoke about “The Power of Travel Promotion.” After Mike’s presentation, Lt. Governor Todd Lamb held a Town Hall meeting, and guests enjoyed a networking reception.
