Come work on a wide variety of recorder music from the past and present under the guidance of an internationally renowned faculty. Winds and Waves, founded by the Oregon Coast Recorder Society, offers graded technique and repertoire classes, plus general “grand consort” sessions.
Instructors are Frances Blaker, Letitia Berlin, Cléa Galhano, and David Castelo. Winds and Waves faculty perform, record, teach, and conduct workshops throughout the United States and abroad. Blaker and Berlin are based in the San Francisco Bay area and form the duo Tibia. Galhano, originally from Brazil, lives and teaches in St. Paul, Minnesota. She is on the faculty of Macalester College and other Twin Cities institutions. Castelo is one of the leading exponents of early music in Brazil and lectures at many music institutions in his country.
