Event Description

Please join us for a two-part webinar series focused on The Design-Builder's Guide to Design Management (Guide).

The guide has been the go-to resource for design-build (DB) professionals for over a decade. Companies and universities across the nation utilize it. Our speakers will introduce us to the recently updated and expanded Guide, which reflects the state of practice and a path forward with common principles that apply to all DB projects and market sectors and specific guidance for the Building sector.

Additionally, each part will delve into the new “playbooks” that provide targeted design management guidance for specific market sectors created to assist professionals in navigating the differences in procurement processes, project scope, team composition, BIM-readiness, and more.

In Part 1, Mark Rothman will:

  • Introduce participants to the Design-Builders Guide to Design Management and begin walking them through beneficial methods of using the Guide and its associated Workbooks.
In Part 2, Greg Gidez will briefly introduce each of the following:
  • A Playbook for The Water / Wastewater Sector
  • A Playbook for the Federal Sector
  • A Playbook for the Aviation
  • A Playbook for Highways
  • A Playbook for the Industrial Sector

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Understand the importance of design integration management in the design-build delivery process.
  • Explain how the Design Integration Manager role can ensure a unified design and construction effort.
  • Recognize the key competencies needed for successful design integration management.
  • Identify the skills needed to be a successful Design Integration Manager.
The new Design Management Guide and other resources can be downloaded for free through the Charles Panko Foundation. Check it out!
