Roosevelt and his “New Deal” social program, emerged as a patron of the arts, assuring the survival of artists, improving public facilities and creating a public art audience. Countrywide, communities large and small, urban and rural, were recipients of this government-sponsored art.
Join us on this walk to understand how the Works Progress Administration (WPA) impacted the beauty of the campus of Michigan State University. We will start promptly at 6:15 P.M. at the Grand River Avenue parking ramp near the Olin Health Center. The walk will take around 1 hour and 15 minutes and we will conclude at the MSU Dairy Store at the MSU Union. Please make sure you bring your walking shoes!
